In short

  • Fulfilled by eMAG, officially Fulfilment by eMAG or FBE, stores your goods and handles order preparation, packaging, delivery, customer care and return requests. For sellers placing stock in Romania, eMAG’s public guide offers the first 30 days of storage free for each replenishment and requires a goods reception request before sending products.
  • Prepare the product, volume, storage and handling data before the first inbound shipment, then reconcile what the warehouse can actually use.
  • Keep replenishments separate in your stock records so you can assess each storage period and the units still waiting to sell.
  • Unsealed returns need a collection process, and removing unsold stock uses a withdrawal request rather than an ordinary customer-return workflow.
  • AirPost is a peer-to-peer fulfilment network: online shops have their orders packed and dropped at a parcel point by verified people near their customers, who earn a fee per parcel from home. No warehouse, no minimum order volume.

For an international webshop entering the Romanian eMAG marketplace, the difficult moment is often the first stock delivery. Your supplier says the cartons have arrived, while your team still needs to know which units can fulfil orders and what to do with products coming back. This guide focuses on that stock cycle: preparing an inbound replenishment, checking availability, following its storage period and collecting units that should leave FBE. It uses the public English eMAG guidance checked on 10 October 2026.

What does Fulfilled by eMAG take over from the seller?

FBE moves physical order handling into eMAG’s warehouse operation. Assign someone to connect each replenishment to your supplier documents, marketplace products and receiving result. A carrier’s delivery receipt establishes arrival; your reconciliation explains which products and quantities that arrival represents. Keep this ownership clear when several people can request new stock.

Select products with a reason to hold them in Romania and documented handling requirements. Our guide to where to hold stock in Europe covers the placement decision. Here, the priority is tracking the first FBE receiving operation and the stock decisions that follow it.

What must be ready before the first reception request?

The English eMAG FBE guide says to create a goods reception request in the marketplace platform and supply product, volume, storage and handling information before the first shipment. It also limits admission to products meeting the relevant national and European legal requirements. Obtain the detailed receiving instructions available for your account before dispatching cartons. The public page does not provide a complete universal carton specification, so do not substitute a packing rule borrowed from another marketplace.

Have one person compare the product list with the physical batch before handover. A correctly counted shipment can still contain the wrong variant. Keep the cartons identifiable in your own records and retain the documents needed to investigate a difference. If you outsource inbound transport, make sure your team receives its delivery evidence and knows which reception request it belongs to. Otherwise, the person answering a stock question may only have a generic confirmation that something reached a warehouse.

Which quantities should remain unavailable after arrival?

Use the result visible in your account to reconcile the replenishment rather than treating every delivered unit as immediately sellable. Compare the references and quantities individually. When a difference appears, identify whether it concerns the wrong product, missing units or a receiving issue still awaiting clarification. Document the difference and keep it out of your own available-stock calculation until the usable quantity is established. This is a suggested stock-control practice, not a claim about the names or timing of eMAG’s internal statuses.

For a hypothetical check, imagine your dispatch list records 12 units of one variant and the usable result shows 10. The useful question is where those two units went, not whether the carrier delivered a carton. Keep the original count, the warehouse result and any supporting images together. If you discover that your own dispatch count was wrong, correct that record as well. A clean reconciliation should explain the difference instead of merely forcing two spreadsheets to show the same total.

How should you use the 30-day free-storage period?

The public eMAG FAQ describes free storage for the first 30 days of each FBE replenishment. That wording makes the replenishment the useful unit for your planning. Record which units belong to which arrival and check the event that starts the period in your account or agreement. The public statement alone does not establish every billing detail. Confirm the applicable terms before assigning dates or charges in your own calculation.

Review the oldest remaining units before adding another batch of the same product. A new arrival does not explain the age or likely selling time of the units already held. Compare remaining quantity with the orders you have actually observed, allowing for campaigns and returns that could change the balance. Avoid sending a large batch purely because an initial storage period is free. Inbound transport, preparation for receiving and eventual removal still consume resources even when you have not yet incurred storage charges.

Assign a review date early enough to make a real stock decision. If the product is selling, work out when replenishment is necessary using your own lead time. If it is not, decide whether to keep it listed, change the commercial offer or plan a withdrawal. Keep that decision beside the replenishment record so the next shipment is not approved without anyone noticing the unsold units. The purpose of the record is to expose stock that needs a decision, not simply count days.

What happens when an unsealed product is returned?

eMAG’s public English FAQ says it collects customer-return parcels and notifies sellers to collect unsealed products from the warehouse. Include that collection route in your operating plan. Assign someone to read the notification, arrange the collection and reconcile the product once it returns to your possession. Check the instructions communicated for the particular case instead of assuming that a returned product automatically becomes a fresh unit in the sellable FBE stock.

When the item reaches your team, record its condition and any missing contents against the original product. Decide what your business can do with it before updating another sales channel. An opened accessory pack, for example, may contain a usable main item but lack part of the original bundle. Treating the whole bundle as ready to sell creates a second customer problem. Keep the collection record and the commercial decision together so the next person reviewing the stock can distinguish a recovered item from a complete new unit.

How do you withdraw products that remain unsold?

For voluntary removal, the FBE FAQ describes a withdrawal request: add the products you want removed and review their quantities in the request’s product list. Build your own removal plan from those specific references and quantities. Do not use a vague instruction such as removing the slow stock when several variants share a name. Check the resulting request before arranging the next stage and keep its identifier with the replenishment records it affects.

Choose the destination and the next use of the goods before requesting removal. Products going back to your main operation need receiving and a new availability check there. Products intended for another fulfilment location need a matching inbound plan at that location. Reconcile what leaves FBE with what reaches the destination. If you announce those units on another site before the movement is complete, you can create an order against stock that is still in transit or being processed.

What should a Romanian local-dispatch comparison include?

Keep eMAG’s service quote separate from a comparison of physical shipping routes. The AirPost European rate index, checked on 10 October 2026, shows indicative transport of €2.55 for Romania → Romania up to 2 kg and €14.69 for Netherlands → Romania at that weight. These are euro amounts from the index and exclude the platform fee. Adding €0.85 and the recommended small-parcel preparation payment of €2.25 gives €5.65 and €17.79 respectively.

For a purely hypothetical set of 12 otherwise identical parcels, those bases total €67.80 from Romanian stock or €213.48 from Dutch stock, a difference of €145.68. The local calculation requires stock to reach Romania first. Add that inbound movement, applicable materials and any other operations you agree. The amounts do not represent FBE charges or establish marketplace eligibility. They help you examine the outbound route alongside the receiving, return and removal work described above.

With AirPost local fulfilment for webshops, a local sender keeps your stock and prepares and drops off the parcels. Marketplace orders need their own arranged data-entry and tracking process; Shopify automation does not establish an eMAG connection. Compare that workload with FBE’s warehouse service before choosing. For the route terminology, domestic shipping describes the final in-country parcel movement, while the original stock transfer remains a separate operation.

How can you test the stock cycle before expanding FBE?

Reconcile one manageable FBE replenishment through receipt, a completed order and its remaining quantity. Check that your team can locate the storage-period terms, unsealed-return notifications and withdrawal workflow. Expand when you can explain what entered, what sold, what needs collecting and what you have chosen to remove. Keep those decisions attached to each replenishment as the catalogue grows.
