In short
- When your webshop parcel is handled by Cyprus Post, plan for its actual delivery or collection service: the postal FAQ allows 30 days after an arrival notification for ordinary registered-item or parcel collection. Delivery Choice and Parcel24 have separate deadlines, so one generic collection promise does not cover every order.
- Eligible parcels can receive a Delivery Choice link that expires at 6:00 am the following day.
- Parcel24 has its own size limit and locker collection period; a postal parcel fitting the general service may still be unsuitable for a locker.
- Keep a postal damage report, a customer’s withdrawal request and your refund decision as separate records.
- AirPost is a peer-to-peer fulfilment network: online shops have their orders packed and dropped at a parcel point by verified people near their customers, who earn a fee per parcel from home. No warehouse, no minimum order volume.
Shipping to Cyprus does not end when your origin carrier scans the parcel. Your customer may receive a delivery selection, a collection notice or an instruction to collect at a particular post office. Your support response should match that event. This guide is for sellers whose selected service is actually handed to Cyprus Post. It does not claim that every courier uses Cyprus Post, or that an international quote automatically includes a particular home-delivery or locker service.
Will the customer receive the parcel at home or collect it?
Check the purchased service before writing the checkout promise. The Cyprus Post receiving FAQ says registered mail is notified for collection rather than delivered at home. Eligible parcels and EMS items can follow a different process. A tracking number by itself does not identify every receiving entitlement. Keep the origin product and the receiving instructions together so your support team can distinguish a postal parcel from registered letter mail.
Preserve the confirmed delivery address with the shipment record. Your customer might change an account address later, but that does not rewrite a label already attached to a box. When investigating a missed delivery, compare the purchased label, the original instruction and the latest local status. Avoid asking the packer to infer the receiving location from a postcode alone after the parcel has already entered the network.
What does the short Delivery Choice window change for your shop?
The official Delivery Choice page describes the option for parcels and EMS, with barcodes beginning C and E respectively. For eligible items outside customs examination, the electronic data must contain a valid mobile number or email. The arrival message offers a choice link valid until 6:00 am on the next date. Your checkout contact fields therefore affect more than the order confirmation: they can determine whether the intended recipient receives that time-sensitive option.
The choices include a Parcel24 locker in the same district, the serving post office, another delivery address or the label’s original address. The choice is optional; the stated default is delivery to the label address. Do not advertise the message as a compulsory new step for every Cypriot buyer. Explain it as an available local option when the purchased parcel and its electronic contact data qualify.
For a gift order, identify the person who should receive delivery information. Copying the payer’s contact details into every shipping field can leave the recipient unaware of an arrival message. Record the agreed recipient contact and check what your actual label channel transmits electronically. A printed telephone number alone does not prove the electronic record contains it. If your integration cannot confirm transmission, avoid promising that this particular customer will receive Delivery Choice.
Design your customer information around the short window. A weekly support review is not a suitable way to manage a link that can expire the next morning. The recipient needs the official message directly. Your role is to provide accurate order data and explain the event when asked. Do not invent a second deadline or imply that your shop can reopen an expired selection. Check the resulting service status before offering an alternative.
Which packed boxes can use Parcel24?
The Parcel24 specifications state a maximum item weight of 30 kg and a maximum size of 47 × 35 × 50 cm. They also require the recipient’s full name, mobile or customer number and the locker address as described in the service terms. Those limits belong to Parcel24. They are not your origin carrier’s general international dimensions and do not establish that your label source accepts a directly addressed locker shipment.
Measure the complete closed package, not just the product. Check every side against the relevant locker allowance. A large protective outer box can make an otherwise light order unsuitable. When a customer combines products, reassess the actual packed arrangement rather than reusing the single-item packaging record. Keep the chosen receiving service alongside the packaging instruction so the person preparing the order knows why a particular outer size matters.
The published Parcel24 terms describe 72 hours of locker availability after notification. An uncollected item then moves to the relevant post office. This is different from the ordinary postal collection period. If a buyer misses the locker window, check the new location before classifying the order as returned to sender. The customer may still have a collection task at a staffed counter rather than a failed shipment.
| Cyprus receiving event | What you verify | Useful seller action |
|---|---|---|
| Delivery Choice message received | The official link deadline and available choices | Let the recipient act on the message; retain the purchased service |
| Parcel24 collection notification | Locker location, package suitability and the 72-hour period | Direct the buyer to the actual notification |
| Locker period elapsed | Whether the parcel has moved to a post office | Give the current collection location before arranging replacement |
| Ordinary postal collection notice | Notice date and the applicable 30-day period | Keep the event separate from the earlier label creation date |
| Damage found on collection | Packaging retained and postal reporting deadline | Open your customer case while preserving the carrier evidence |
What does your buyer need at a staffed collection point?
Cyprus Post requires a valid official photo ID for collection. Its FAQ describes written authorisation for a representative and a separate SMS procedure in which the recipient forwards the notification; the collector still needs valid official photo ID. Personal Delivery has additional requirements. Send the customer the official instructions for the actual case. Do not generalise an ordinary collection rule into permission for someone else to collect every service.
How do you handle damage without confusing the carrier claim and the customer case?
Cyprus Post asks for a Damage Report as soon as possible and no later than three working days after collection, with the item and its internal and external packaging presented in the received condition. It also directs the recipient to inform the sender so the sender can submit an enquiry to the origin post. Build that evidence request into your response when damage is reported. The postal reporting procedure is a carrier process, separate from the customer’s rights against your shop.
Open your own customer case immediately. Record the reported condition, the order reference and what the buyer needs from you. Ask for useful images and explain how to retain the packaging for postal examination. Keep the packing instructions and handover record available at the origin. If another person prepared the parcel, ask for the relevant evidence from that task. A photo of an unopened box at dispatch does not alone settle what caused later damage.
Assign the carrier enquiry to whoever is entitled to open it under the purchased label conditions. Do not tell the buyer to wait indefinitely for an internal compensation decision before you consider the retail complaint. Equally, do not promise that a successful postal report guarantees reimbursement of every amount. Deal with the customer’s requested remedy and the transport evidence in parallel, using the applicable sale rules and service conditions for each decision.
When is an uncollected parcel a return, and when is it withdrawal?
A postal event saying uncollected describes what happened to the parcel. A customer message withdrawing from a distance sale is a contractual instruction. Keep both records if both occur. Your Europe’s seller guidance explains the ordinary 14-day withdrawal period after delivery for goods and the refund obligations following notification, with conditions and exceptions. Do not replace that assessment with a locker timer or a carrier’s collection limit.
If your buyer contacts you before the parcel returns, first confirm what he is asking: help collecting, a changed delivery arrangement or withdrawal. Respond to that request and then organise the goods movement. A parcel can remain at a post office while your shop has already received a customer instruction. Waiting for a returned box is not a substitute for recording and considering that instruction. Our EU returns guide covers the broader rules.
Set a genuine receiving address for returned goods and agree who reports their arrival. The origin packer is not automatically authorised to inspect, restock or discard every returned item. Specify the task and wait for your stock decision. If you need a new return label from Cyprus, obtain that service separately; the outward label does not establish a prepaid return or a return price. The warehouse-free returns workflow helps organise that physical reception.
What belongs in the AirPost cost and responsibility agreement?
For an order prepared through AirPost fulfilment, the recommended small-parcel packing fee is €2.25 and the platform charge is €0.85. Together that is €3.10 before the actual label, materials and stock transport, using constants checked on 14 October 2026. Agree the real packing fee and identify which person maintains dispatch evidence. This amount does not quote a Cyprus delivery or a return service.
Cyprus is not an AirPost origin country in the supported list checked for this article. Investigate a supported origin and confirm its actual international offer for your parcel. Do not advertise a Cypriot AirPost stock location or guaranteed Parcel24 integration on this basis. Your practical agreement should name the packing task, carrier handover, evidence storage and returned-goods reception. The customer’s later receiving choice remains a separate local postal process.
Frequently asked questions
How does Cyprus Post deliver an international webshop parcel?
It depends on the actual item category and purchased service. Eligible parcels can receive Delivery Choice; registered mail follows collection instructions. Check the product and local notification before promising home delivery.
How long does Cyprus Post keep a parcel for collection?
Its receiving FAQ states 30 days after an arrival notification for ordinary registered items or parcels. Parcel24 uses a separate locker period and subsequent post-office movement. Follow the notice for your specific shipment.
Can I send a parcel to a Parcel24 locker?
Check the locker specifications and the acceptance rules of your label service. Parcel24 publishes maximum dimensions of 47 × 35 × 50 cm. A valid customer registration alone does not prove that your international label supports the requested route.
What if a Cyprus customer finds the parcel damaged?
Preserve the packaging and use the official postal damage-report procedure promptly. Open your retail customer case as well; the postal evidence process and your decision about the customer’s remedy are separate responsibilities.
Does missing a collection deadline automatically resolve the webshop order?
No. Check the actual parcel movement and ask what the customer wants. Record any withdrawal request separately, assess the applicable rights and organise returned-goods reception rather than treating a postal status as your complete contractual decision.
