Speedy cash on delivery in Bulgaria: matching euro payouts

Reconcile Bulgarian Speedy COD orders in euros. Separate collection, courier fees and payout dates, and check card disputes before treating funds as final.

In short

  • Speedy cash on delivery collects the declared purchase amount from the recipient and pays it to the sender under the agreed service. For domestic Bulgarian parcels, its published bank-transfer schedule is the first working day after delivery; COD is declared in euros following Bulgaria’s euro adoption on 1 January 2026.
  • Delivery, collection of the money and payment to your business are separate records. A delivered parcel should not by itself mark a bank payout as reconciled.
  • Recipient card payment can add a fee, and Speedy’s terms contain a repayment obligation if that card payment is later disputed and debited to the carrier.
  • The published Bulgarian service does not prove that your Netherlands-to-Bulgaria or Germany-to-Bulgaria label includes Speedy COD. Confirm the actual origin, contract and payout arrangement.
  • AirPost is a peer-to-peer fulfilment network: online shops have their orders packed and dropped at a parcel point by verified people near their customers, who earn a fee per parcel from home. No warehouse, no minimum order volume.

Your shop accepts payment on delivery from a Bulgarian customer. Tracking later says delivered, so your order system marks the sale paid. The bank account shows a different amount or nothing yet. Before treating this as a missing transfer, check what each record means. The customer may have paid the carrier, while your business is still awaiting its scheduled settlement. Fees, the service payer and a later card dispute can also change the money you keep. A workable COD process follows the parcel and the payment separately.

What does Speedy actually agree to collect for your shop?

The official Speedy COD page describes an additional service: the carrier collects an amount declared by the sender from the recipient and passes it to the sender. The page covers domestic Bulgaria and specified outward routes from Bulgaria. It does not establish equivalent availability for every inbound international parcel delivered by a partner. Start by identifying the contract under which your shipment is booked and whether collection is explicitly included.

Decide how the purchase amount relates to any delivery charge before creating the waybill. The declared COD amount, the party paying for transport and the party bearing an additional service fee are related but different fields. A customer should not discover an unexplained extra collection amount at the door. Match the confirmed checkout total with your booking instructions and keep the order reference beside the resulting parcel number. This gives your support team something concrete to compare if the recipient questions the amount.

Speedy’s terms also describe an optional open or test before payment service when the sender explicitly permits it. Do not assume that ordinary COD includes unrestricted inspection or product testing. Check which additional option is agreed for your goods and how refusal is handled. The buyer’s decision to accept the parcel and the seller’s later handling of a returned product need separate records, especially when money was never collected in the first place.

Which currency belongs in Bulgarian orders after euro adoption?

The European Central Bank announcement records Bulgaria joining the euro area on 1 January 2026, with the lev conversion rate fixed at 1.95583 per euro. The current Speedy COD page names euros for Bulgaria. Check your shop, shipping export and settlement import together. An older integration that still assumes a Bulgarian COD figure means lev can misstate an otherwise correctly entered amount.

Keep a currency beside every monetary field in your internal records. The order amount, declared collection, carrier charge and bank settlement can otherwise look like comparable numbers while being interpreted differently. For historic lev transactions, retain the original amount and the applicable conversion record rather than relabelling an old number as euros. Do not run a second conversion on a transaction that the carrier has already settled in the agreed currency.

For a new Bulgarian domestic order, your reconciliation should connect the euro figure confirmed to the buyer with the euro figure declared to Speedy. If the values differ, resolve the reason before dispatch. A discount applied after the voucher was created is one possible operational cause to check; it is not evidence that the carrier changed your sales price. Preserve the original booking and any accepted amendment so you can trace where the collection instruction came from.

When should you expect the money to reach the payout stage?

Speedy’s published domestic schedule gives the first working day after delivery for bank-transfer payouts, subject to the relevant service schedule. Its FAQ says COD payouts are made on banking working days, Monday to Friday, with no payouts on Saturday or non-banking days even when parcel operations take place. A weekend delivery event therefore should not automatically generate a missing-payment alert the same evening.

Use the actual delivery date to determine the expected carrier payout step. Record separately when your own bank statement shows the transfer. Do not treat an expected date as a completed transaction. When a transfer is late, compare the parcel number and the agreed payout details with the carrier’s record. A screenshot of delivery helps identify the parcel, but it does not establish that a bank payment has already been sent or received.

Why might the settlement differ from the amount collected?

Speedy publishes a domestic COD percentage of 2.4%, with a minimum depending on the payout method. It also publishes an additional 0.96% where the recipient pays by card at a POS terminal. Check your actual contract and the applicable minimum in the current fee schedule before doing the money calculation. A rate alone is not a complete fee quote, and your individual agreement may differ from a public listing.

The percentage components, where both apply, add to 3.36%; that is only the percentage part of the published structure. It does not include transport, a fee minimum or every possible agreed service. Speedy states that the COD fee forms part of the courier service and is charged to its payer unless otherwise specified. Identify that payer before predicting what will be withheld from your settlement. Do not subtract every displayed fee from the purchase money without checking how the actual invoice and payout are structured.

Reconcile the gross collection with the settlement statement and courier invoice, rather than forcing them into one unlabeled shipping-cost column. If a bank transfer combines several orders, use the carrier’s order-level breakdown to identify the relevant parcel references. An unexplained difference belongs in an exception list until it has a documented reason. Avoid resolving it by silently changing the sales amount, because that hides the difference your accounts should explain.

Who receives the payout when somebody else dispatches your goods?

Agree the named sender and intended payout beneficiary before the first COD shipment. A packing partner physically handing over a parcel does not by itself determine who should receive your sales money. Speedy’s FAQ describes entering the payout bank account through MySpeedy or Speedy Market when preparing the waybill. Confirm the beneficiary requirements for your actual account and contract. The public pages do not establish acceptance of every foreign bank account, so obtain a usable arrangement rather than assuming one.

If cash collection from an office is part of your agreement, define who is authorised to collect and how the receipt reaches your accounts. The FAQ gives a 30-day office collection period, after which the money is archived and the sender must arrange collection in advance. Speedy’s COD page also requires a notarised power of attorney where someone other than the sender collects cash personally. Leaving the money with an informal local contact is not a substitute for a documented payout arrangement.

Can a card-paid COD sale be reversed after payout?

Yes, you must account for the contractual possibility. Clause 55.7 of Speedy’s terms requires the user to repay a COD amount paid to them when the recipient paid by card, subsequently disputed the transaction and the carrier’s account was debited. Physical delivery and an earlier payout therefore do not eliminate every later payment risk. Preserve the order, delivery and product records needed to explain the transaction.

Keep a disputed payment linked to the original parcel and settlement. Do not simply mark it as a new return: a returned product, a refund issued by your shop and a card dispute can produce different evidence and money movements. Assign the case to the person handling carrier correspondence and accounts together. Your process should show the original gross sale, the payout received and any later repayment without losing the connection between them.

How does this compare with AirPost preparation at another origin?

For a suitable parcel prepared through AirPost at a supported origin, the constants checked on 14 October 2026 give €0.85 platform fee plus €3.00 recommended packing compensation: €3.85 for these two components. If the shop pays them, that subtotal belongs in its order budget alongside the actual transport and payment-service costs. It does not include Speedy COD, and it is not a quoted Bulgarian shipment price.

Bulgaria is not an AirPost sender origin in the checked product information. A local Speedy dispatch-and-payout agreement is therefore a separate arrangement to investigate. AirPost describes stock placed with people who pack and send shop orders at supported origins; check the actual international label before promising COD to Bulgaria. Read average shipping cost per order for the cost record and local fulfilment for the packing arrangement.

Frequently asked questions

What does Speedy cash on delivery mean?

The carrier collects the sender’s declared amount from the recipient under the agreed additional service and pays it to the sender. Collection and payout must be checked separately.

Does Speedy Bulgaria tracking prove I have been paid?

A delivery event concerns the parcel. Match collection and carrier payout records with your actual bank receipt before treating the settlement as reconciled.

Does Bulgarian COD still use lev?

The current domestic service page specifies euros. Check your order export and historic records carefully so a former lev assumption does not alter a new euro booking.

Can a packing partner receive the COD money?

Set the sender and payout beneficiary under the carrier’s agreed requirements. Do not assume that physical handover grants the packer authority to collect your sale proceeds.

Is COD automatically included in an AirPost label to Bulgaria?

This article establishes no such inclusion. Confirm the available route and payment service separately, and do not assume Bulgarian local dispatch is an AirPost origin.
