TikTok Shop shipping SLA: US dispatch and delivery clocks

Separate TikTok Shop’s US dispatch, auto-cancellation and delivery deadlines. Count federal holidays correctly and test your packing and carrier plan.

In short

  • For regular US TikTok Shop orders, the published SLA requires In Transit within 2 business days, tracking added for Awaiting Collection within 5 business days to avoid auto-cancellation, and Delivered within 6 business days of Awaiting Shipment. The five-day cancellation clock does not extend the two-day dispatch clock.
  • Business days exclude Saturdays, Sundays and US federal holidays. Use the dates displayed on the individual order when an extension or special order setting applies.
  • A valid label, a qualifying dispatch event and a delivered package are different milestones. Assign an owner to each.
  • AirPost is a peer-to-peer fulfilment network: online shops have their orders packed and dropped at a parcel point by verified people near their customers, who earn a fee per parcel from home. No warehouse, no minimum order volume.

The order has not been canceled, so it must still be safe to ship: that assumption can leave you late before the platform cancels anything. TikTok Shop has separate clocks for dispatch, missing tracking and delivery. A seller needs to know which status proves each milestone. Put the order’s actual deadlines beside the packing queue, then follow the parcel beyond label creation. This is especially useful when a promotion brings orders faster than your usual pickup routine can absorb them.

Which deadline does each order status satisfy?

The US Fulfillment Policy, updated September 28, 2026, separates the regular-order milestones. Awaiting Collection reflects tracking added to Seller Center; In Transit reflects dispatch under the platform’s recognized events; Delivered is the delivery status. Treat them as separate checks rather than considering the order finished when postage exists.

A late label upload can leave less time to reach the dispatch milestone, but an early upload does not make the carrier take the package. Review labels without physical handover evidence before the dispatch cutoff. If the parcel is ready, identify the available pickup or drop-off. If it is not ready, identify the missing item or packing task. The action depends on the physical problem, not merely on which button remains available in Seller Center.

TikTok recognizes qualifying manifest or in-app scan events where available and eligible. Do not assume every locally created manifest is accepted for every order. Check the workflow in your account and retain the relevant record. A person packing for you should know whether they are supplying a carrier scan, a supported in-app event or only a preparation update. Those records should keep their original event names and timestamps.

How do weekends and a federal holiday change the count?

The policy excludes weekends and US federal holidays. The Office of Personnel Management’s 2026 calendar lists Veterans Day on Wednesday, November 11. The following hypothetical calendar starts with Awaiting Shipment on Friday, November 6 and treats the next eligible business day as Day 1. It illustrates the count; read the exact cutoff displayed for the real order.

A holiday can affect your carrier operation differently from the platform’s calendar. Confirm the actual acceptance and collection schedule. An excluded SLA day does not establish that the service will move the parcel, and a carrier operating on Saturday does not turn Saturday into a TikTok business day. Keep both calendars in view. Plan around the earlier practical handover you need to support the customer promise, using the order’s authoritative dates.

Do made-to-order and preorder items use the same clocks?

The Fulfillment Policy gives made-to-order, backorder and custom-handling orders dispatch within the configured handling period plus one business day, auto-cancellation at handling plus four, and delivery at handling plus five. Preorders use their closure date as the starting event. Activate an eligible special-order feature before relying on its deadlines; writing “made to order” in ordinary product copy does not establish that the order has that platform configuration.

Inspect the order type before adding it to a standard packing batch. A preorder that has not reached its closure date needs different treatment from an ordinary stocked item. A product awaiting customization needs a visible work task before packaging. Put the necessary material, variant and approval information beside that task so the packer can identify what prevents completion. Avoid allowing a general batch label to hide an unfinished product.

Maintain a separate exception list for orders whose displayed dates differ from your default. That difference may be legitimate, but it needs an explanation tied to the order. A seller-configured handling feature, a platform extension and a local spreadsheet change are not equivalent. Only the appropriate platform setting or notice establishes the applicable SLA. Retain the evidence when you change a setting so later review does not depend on someone’s memory.

Can standard ground shipping meet the selected delivery option?

TikTok’s US Seller Shipping overview specifies three business days for Express and six for Standard and Economy, with 95% delivery performance for eligibility to offer the chosen option. These option-specific conditions should be checked alongside the general order SLA. A carrier name alone does not tell you whether the purchased service fits Express.

Subtract the preparation time from the end-to-end plan before choosing transportation. If most of the permitted period is spent finding stock or waiting for pickup, a ground service can have too little transit time left. This is an operational planning check, not a replacement for TikTok’s displayed deadline. Quote and evaluate the service from the actual dispatch ZIP code. A rate sampled from a different origin is a cost reference, not proof of coverage.

For orders already accepted, use the customer’s selected service level. If the required option is unavailable at label purchase, escalate that order rather than substituting an economical service without review. Keep the service name in the order record. This helps distinguish a transit failure from a selection error: a correctly purchased fast service delayed in transit calls for different evidence from an Express order intentionally sent by a slower route.

What does an AirPost packing budget leave out of the SLA?

AirPost’s US domestic page displayed small-parcel USPS Ground Advantage from approximately $7.78 and FedEx Ground Economy from approximately $8.22 on October 14, 2026. Platform fee is included; sender compensation is additional, and the USD figures are indicative conversions.

For two hypothetical parcels at the displayed starting prices, the label budgets are 2 × $7.78 = $15.56 or 2 × $8.22 = $16.44. Add the sender’s agreed payment and your packaging separately. This calculation does not supply an Express quote or a delivery commitment. Its purpose is to separate the physical packing budget from the decision about which service can satisfy the specific order. Avoid adding the included platform fee twice.

AirPost’s documented automated connection is Shopify, and its copy describes local senders holding stock and packing orders. That does not establish a direct TikTok integration or a complete TikTok-compatible label workflow. Define order intake, tracking submission and the shipping mode before assigning marketplace orders. Use the seller information to discuss physical work and the first-order walkthrough to rehearse a representative parcel.

What should your team inspect before each handover?

  1. Read the order’s clock

Record its type, Awaiting Shipment date, selected service and displayed dispatch deadline. Flag any exception to the regular-order pattern.

  2. Connect label and contents

Match the SKU, customer address, carrier service and package tracking before closing the box.

  3. Confirm the recognized event

Use the eligible dispatch workflow and check that the evidence is connected to the specific package, then inspect the Seller Center status.

  4. Keep the delivery queue open

Monitor accepted parcels for missing movement or delivery status. Assign the next action to someone who can contact the carrier or resolve the order.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a US seller have to ship a TikTok Shop order?

Check the order’s dispatch deadline and type. The regular-order milestones are summarized above; special configurations and platform announcements can change the applicable dates.

Does printing a TikTok Shop label count as dispatch?

For ordinary parcel orders, separate label creation from the recognized dispatch event. Check the eligible carrier, manifest or in-app scan workflow for your order.

Can I wait until the auto-cancellation deadline to hand over the parcel?

The cancellation threshold and dispatch deadline are different. An order can remain open after it has already missed its dispatch requirement.

Can my own holiday calendar extend a TikTok order?

Use the platform’s business-day definition and any applicable notice. Your internal staffing calendar does not change the deadline shown on the order.

Can I use a cheap ground service for Express orders?

Only when the actual eligible service supports the selected requirement. A starting price or broad carrier transit description does not establish that fit.
