In short

  • For a current Yodel Direct price reference, InPost Direct’s sending page lists £1.66 excluding VAT at 1 kg and £2.16 excluding VAT at 2 kg, checked on 10 October 2026. Its separate locker-size table uses different prices, so confirm the route and complete payable quote for your parcel.
  • The weight-based table and the Small, Medium and Large locker table are separate reference schedules.
  • Published shop and collection limits differ, and some marketing measurements conflict with the terms: confirm borderline parcels before paying.
  • AirPost’s Yodel/InPost UK service rates include the platform fee and use their own parcel formats; sender compensation comes separately.
  • AirPost is a peer-to-peer fulfilment network: online shops have their orders packed and dropped at a parcel point by verified people near their customers, who earn a fee per parcel from home. No warehouse, no minimum order volume.

If you saved a Yodel price in a postage spreadsheet, check what the current booking actually sells before using it for another order. The Direct site now displays InPost Direct branding, while some links and other platforms can still use Yodel wording. This guide answers the pricing question: which published table applies, what is missing from its headline amount and how does your finished box affect the booking? All reference figures below were retrieved on 10 October 2026.

Where should you check today’s Yodel postage cost?

Start with the current InPost Direct sending page if that is where you intend to buy. A consumer InPost app purchase, a Direct website purchase and a broker’s Yodel listing should not be assumed to have identical prices or conditions. Match the price to the actual selling channel and service name. For the handover and account context, the existing Yodel Direct to InPost Direct guide covers the current sending routes.

An older screenshot cannot establish today’s price. Record the purchase channel and VAT status, then quote the current finished parcel. Save the complete quote against the customer order.

5 kg£3.32Confirm the selected service in the quote

15 kg£8.69Labelled Door to Door only
InPost Direct’s published sending-page weight table, retrieved 10 October 2026. Reference figures excluding VAT, not guaranteed totals for every handover or recipient route.

The table does not give a complete personalised quote for each combination of postcode, handover and receipt. Use it to identify the weight category you need to investigate. Do not advertise £1.66 as the total cost of home delivery for every 1 kg shop order. VAT, the selected service and any applicable options still need to be resolved by the actual booking. A lower reference number is not permission to choose an ineligible category.

Why are the locker prices different from the weight prices?

Locker-size label in the separate tablePublished price excluding VAT
Small£2.24
Medium£3.32
Large£4.99
The separate InPost-services size table on the Direct sending page, checked 10 October 2026. Use the booked locker service’s dimensions and conditions to choose a category.

These size labels do not simply mean 1 kg, 2 kg and 5 kg. They refer to a parcel’s fit within a locker category. A light but bulky product can need a larger category than a denser, thinner product. Read the finished measurements rather than mapping every lightweight order to Small. The fact that a price matches a row in the weight table does not establish that the two rows describe the same service.

The Direct small-parcel page describes locker services for parcels up to 15 kg, but weight eligibility does not cancel compartment or contractual size limits. The existing InPost UK locker-size guide helps with physical fit. Confirm the terms attached to your actual Direct label as well. A compartment that appears large enough is not, by itself, evidence that the booking accepts the parcel.

Which dimensions can change the service you need?

The Direct small-parcel page gives Shop to Shop and Shop to Door a limit of 60 × 50 × 50 cm and up to 10 kg. Its collection description gives Door to Door up to 120 × 50 × 50 cm and 15 kg. Those are published service descriptions, not a universal InPost maximum. Select the route first, then check the finished parcel against that route’s confirmed booking conditions.

There are inconsistencies you should resolve near a boundary. The sending-page locker table uses a 64 cm length, while section 3B of the terms states a maximum of 41 × 38 × 61 cm and 15 kg. Section 3A also contains a generic 10 kg size definition despite the marketing page’s 15 kg Door to Door description. Do not turn the larger marketing figure into automatic permission. Ask Direct to confirm the applicable service for a borderline order.

Can packaging move your order into a higher price band?

Yes: compare packed weight with the band you purchase. An illustrative 1.80 kg basket plus 0.30 kg of carton and protection becomes 2.10 kg. That is outside an up-to-2-kg booking even though the products weigh less. The published 2 kg and 5 kg reference rows are £2.16 and £3.32 excluding VAT, a difference of £1.16. Check the actual quote rather than assume those reference figures are available for your route.

Changing packaging can also change locker fit without changing the weight band. A thicker protective carton may need a larger compartment, while a safely packed flatter format may fit a smaller category. Measure the real sealed result and preserve the protection the goods need. Do not remove necessary cushioning to obtain a lower price. If a basket changes, repeat both checks: packed weight for the purchased band and dimensions for the selected service.

Does paying for collection buy the same thing as drop-off?

Collection changes the sender’s handover. A Shop to Door or Locker to Door route still requires someone to take the parcel to the accepted point; Door to Door describes a collection arrangement. Compare the routes using your actual dispatch routine and their final payable quotes. The 15 kg weight-table row explicitly identifies Door to Door, so it should not be treated as a counter-drop-off rate for a heavier parcel.

Customer receipt remains another choice. Shop to Shop requires collection by the buyer, whereas a route ending in Door describes address delivery. A shop deciding how much to charge at checkout needs to know which arrangement it is offering. Label generation, printing and the supported handover must follow the purchased route. Confirm the preparation instructions before relying on a convenient local point or booking a collection for a batch.

Would splitting a heavier order reduce postage?

Not necessarily. At the published weight-table reference figures, two eligible 5 kg parcels would total £6.64 excluding VAT, while one eligible 10 kg parcel is listed at £4.99 excluding VAT. The difference is £1.65 in favour of one parcel. This is arithmetic using advertised rows, not a quote for a specific basket. Obtain both actual options before deciding, including any relevant protection and the extra carton.

The eligibility checks come first. Two parcels need two sets of packaging and separate handover records; the complete weight of each must stay within its purchased band. One heavier carton must meet the selected service’s size and contents conditions. If the goods need separate safe packaging, a theoretical postage saving does not override that need. Tell the customer when a deliberate split creates separate parcels and keep each tracking reference linked to the same order.

What does AirPost currently show for Yodel and InPost?

AirPost’s UK-to-UK rate page displayed InPost Economy Shop to Home under the Yodel heading and a separate InPost Lockers to Home service on 10 October 2026. Both examples below describe delivery to an address. Their AirPost format limits differ from the Direct retail tables, so use the format beside the price rather than substitute a general carrier maximum.

Live AirPost UK-to-UK shipping-options snapshot, retrieved 10 October 2026. Approximate sterling display; platform fee included, sender compensation additional, settlement in euros.

The rates already contain the platform fee of €0.85. The recommended sender compensation for a small parcel is €2.25, and for a medium parcel it is €3.00; your agreement with the sender sets the actual fee. Do not add the platform fee twice or add a euro fee directly to an approximate pound display. Confirm the complete amount in the payment currency.

The AirPost local fulfilment page explains what the sender does: hold a small batch and prepare outgoing customer orders. A Direct postage purchase alone does not perform that work. Compare the label service you need, then decide who will pack and hand it over. If you use a sender, agree the carton and permitted basket combinations so the prepared parcel matches the format you selected.

How should you update your shop’s postage estimate?

  1. Replace an old Yodel headline with the current purchase channel and exact service name.
  2. Record the sealed parcel’s weight, dimensions and customer receipt method.
  3. Resolve borderline acceptance questions before relying on a listed price.
  4. Save the complete quote with its VAT status and any separate preparation fee.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I find a current Yodel Direct postage price?

Check the current InPost Direct sending page and obtain a quote through the channel where you intend to buy. Older Yodel wording and another broker’s listing do not establish an identical current price.

Are the £1.66 and £2.16 reference prices including VAT?

No. The Direct sending-page table labels those 1 kg and 2 kg figures as excluding VAT. Confirm the complete payable amount after entering the actual parcel and route.

Is a 1 kg parcel automatically a Small locker parcel?

No. Locker categories depend on dimensions as well as the applicable weight limit. A lightweight bulky carton can need a larger category. Use the conditions of the purchased locker service.

Can I send 15 kg using any InPost Direct route?

Do not assume so. The published weight table marks its 15 kg row Door to Door only, while other pages describe separate locker services and shop limits. Confirm the exact service conditions, including the noted discrepancies.

Does an AirPost Yodel rate include the sender’s fee?

The cited rate-page figures include carrier and platform costs. The compensation agreed with the person preparing the order is additional. AirPost’s format and payment-currency details also need to be respected.
