In short

  • Yes — Ireland is a live sender country since September 2026: a shop stores a batch of stock with you, you pack its Irish orders and hand them in, and at 25 small parcels a week at the recommended €2.25 you net about €218 a month, paid in euros.
  • Most Irish orders go by An Post, which any post office accepts, or UPS via an Access Point. Every parcel is delivered to the customer’s door.
  • You set your own fee; the only deduction is a 3% commission on each payout. The shop pays for every label.
  • Revenue wants all of it declared. With a job, under €5,000 net a year goes in myAccount — roughly 48 small parcels a week is where you cross that line.
  • AirPost is a peer-to-peer fulfilment network: online shops have their orders packed and dropped at a parcel point by verified people near their customers, who earn a fee per parcel from home. No warehouse, no minimum order volume.

Most "packing from home" adverts in Ireland are vague on three things: who the parcels belong to, what you are paid, and what Revenue expects. This page answers all three for Ireland, with prices measured on 29 September 2026 and fees taken from the code the app runs on. The general picture is on earn from home.

Why would a shop keep stock in Ireland?

Because Ireland is an island. On the European shipping rates index of 26 September 2026 a 2 kg parcel sent into Ireland cost €11.05 from Germany and €13.25 from the Netherlands, carrier price only. The same parcel inside Ireland cost €6.27, and a 10 kg parcel only €7.56.

Irish domestic parcels are not cheap — the median for a 2 kg parcel inside a European country was €4.04 — but they barely rise with weight, and they are about half the cross-border price. For a shop in Great Britain the gap is bigger still: every parcel into Ireland is a customs import. One bulk shipment to someone in Cork or Galway turns each order after that into a domestic parcel. The shop’s side of that sum is in ship to Ireland without an Irish warehouse; the live figures are in the European shipping rates index.

How do you start as a sender in Ireland?

  1. Pick a username and enter your address with Eircode

Shops see the username and your region, not your address. The address goes on the label as the return address, under the shop’s name.

  2. Tell shops where the stock goes and your daily limit

A shelf in a spare room, a press, the attic. Set how many parcels a day you can handle; once you hit it, shops skip you for the day.

  3. Tick your carriers and drop-off places

The post office you already use for An Post, a UPS Access Point on your way to work. You only get orders for carriers you ticked.

  4. Verify your identity

A shop is sending goods to your home, so it needs to know who you are. AirPost does not keep a copy of your ID.

  5. Add an Irish bank account in your own name

An IBAN in someone else’s name is refused — a check that schemes asking you to forward parcels for a stranger cannot pass.

  6. Confirm that you can print labels

Black and white on ordinary paper is enough.

You also agree that the stock stays the shop’s property and that you send it back within 14 days if they ask. What you need at home, and what you do not, is in what you need to pack parcels from home.

What does a normal week look like?

A shop you work with puts an Irish order out to its senders. Before you take it you see only the product, the parcel size and the region. Once you claim it, the full address and Eircode appear, and one tap buys the label — paid from the shop’s balance, not yours. How claiming works in detail is in how to claim an order as a sender.

You take the item off the shelf, pack it, print and stick on the label, and hand it in at the post office or Access Point you ticked. Most senders batch this: pack in the evening, one trip the next morning, within the agreed handover time. If a parcel is lost or damaged in transit, the carrier is liable and AirPost files the claim. If you switched on returns, a return comes back to you: you report it with five photos, the shop accepts it, and your return price goes into your balance.

How much do you earn per parcel in Ireland?

Whatever you set. The app suggests €2.25 for a small parcel (up to 5 kg) and €3.00 for a medium one (up to 10 kg). The Irish rate card has no letterbox service, so small and medium parcels are the realistic work.

How are you paid?

  • In euros, start to finish. Ireland is a euro country, so your fee, your balance and the payout to your Irish account are all euros — no exchange rate in between.
  • Payable 3 days after handover. The short hold leaves room to fix a parcel that went wrong.
  • Withdraw from €10.00. Below that the balance simply carries over.
  • One deduction: 3%. No sign-up fee, no subscription, no label costs.

Which carriers can you use in Ireland?

These are the Irish domestic services on the shipping options page, measured on 29 September 2026. The price is what the shop pays, including the platform fee of €0.85; your own fee comes on top.

In practice most Irish work is An Post: cheaper for the shop, and you can hand it in at whichever post office is nearest, in town or in a village shop with a post office counter. Tick UPS as well if an Access Point is on your route; for a large parcel UPS sends a driver to you, and the collection day is on the label.

Do you pay tax on it in Ireland?

You declare it; whether you pay depends on the rest of your income. Revenue counts fees like these as extra income that belongs on your Income Tax Return, and there is no tax-free amount for side income.

How do you tell real parcel work from a scam?

The fake version usually arrives as a message: a "logistics assistant" role, parcels you receive and re-post abroad, money you pass on. The goods are often bought with stolen cards, and the person at the address is the one the Gardaí can find.

  • You agreed with one named shop, and its stock stays on your shelf until an Irish customer orders.
  • Every parcel is an Irish domestic label paid for by the shop, to an Irish address.
  • Your earnings show as lines in a balance and go to an IBAN in your own name.
  • You are asked to forward parcels to another country for someone you met online.
  • You have to pay first: a deposit, a kit, training or postage.
  • Money lands in your account and you are told to send it on. That is money mule activity and a crime.
